People often ask me, “Why Tuesday night?”
The practical answer is quite simple. Tuesday was the one night of the week that most people seemed to keep free. It was also the night I used to have someone come over to help me cook while Johnny was living in China, so it naturally became our night to gather around the table.
We started the dinners in 2021, when my eldest son, Billy, left school. I wanted him to stay close to his friends, so I invited them over for dinner. Then as each of my children finished school, the circle grew, and they began taking turns hosting.
The dinners have evolved and grown over the years, but the heart of them has stayed exactly the same. Whether the Real Housewives are at the table or it is simply the kids and their friends, it is always about connection, laughter and making time for one another. There is always a home cooked meal and I try to mix up the menu each week. What began as a way to keep Billy connected with his friends has become one of our favourite traditions, and a reminder that some of the best memories are made when everyone comes together around the table.
